One major goal of the police foundation was a vest fund. Each officer must pay for his own protective vest until receiving a reimbursement.  They often wait up to twelve (12) months, potentially causing a financial strain.

The Foundation had a revolving fund available for loans until the reimbursements are received. As each loan is repaid by the officer personally, the fund is continuously replenished, and perpetually available. 

Vests currently cost between $800 and $1200. The vests are required to be replaced every five (5) years.

32 Officers have received vest purchase assistance from the Foundation.
